Wabash beats Allegheny, sets sights on Monon Bell Classic

Nate Patton|’20|The Wabash Little Giants traveled to Allegheny on Saturday, November 4th, to take on the Gators. The contest between the Little Giants and the Gators was a high scoring affair with the final score of 48-41 with Wabash coming out on top. Multiple Little Giants trotted into the endzone this afternoon. Dylan Buresh ’18, Austin Nightingale ’19, and Ra’Shawn Jones ’20 all scored once for Wabash. Ike James ’20 put on an absolute clinic this afternoon adding four touchdowns for the Little Giants. A couple of key big runs by Ike James ’20 and Matt Penola ’19 put Wabash in scoring position and were able to capitalize and get into the endzone. The offense put on an overall strong performance this afternoon relying heavily on the run. The defense turned out to be key this afternoon as well. The Wabash defense came up with two forced fumble recoveries. These forced turnovers turned out to be key plays for the Little Giants. Brock Heffron ’19 and Deonte Simpson ’18 were the Little Giants who came up with the fumble recoveries. Today’s victory moves Wabash to 7-2 on the season and 6-2 in NCAC play.
