Swimming faces tough Weekend

Zach Moffett |’20| The Little Giants swimming team participated in two meets this past weekend. They faced DePauw University Friday night, and on Saturday, they took on Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. The Little Giants started off hot as they have won two of the dual matches they have been in and finished fourth in the recent seven team collegiate match at Purdue. On Friday, the Little Giants fell short as they lost to DePauw, 178-113. In the loss, Jan Dziadek ’21 captured two first place wins in the 100-meter butterfly and the 200-meter individual medley.  Then Saturday, the Little Giants took their second loss at home, 134-164.

“Today’s meet consisted of a lot of season best swims and a lot of mental toughness,” Kyle Louks ’19 said. “Coming off of a meet against Depauw was definitely a challenge, but we responded really well.”.

This surely is a tough loss and a tough weekend for the Little Giants. The loss is the first home loss this season for Wabash. The back to back meets put a toll on the Little Giants, but many of them handled the adversity. They are now setting their sights on the House of Champions meet at Indiana University starting November 17.
