Wabash Falls to Wittenberg in Nail-Biter

Zach Moffett ’20-Staff Writer- The Little Giants’ football team took on the undefeated Wittenberg Tigers this past Saturday. This was the last home game of the year for the Little Giants as they will be on the road for the remainder of the season. Wittenberg scores first in the game using their passing game to their advantage today. The Wabash offense had a tough time getting things going today as they had a tough time trying to run the ball, but also getting its pass offense going as well. The Wabash defense held tough and made several key plays to put the Little Giants in a great position. After the half, the Little Giants trailed 7-13, but they gained a lot of momentum in the third as Ike James ‘20 rushed to another Little Giant touchdown to take the lead heading into the fourth. The Wabash defense only could do so much as the Wittenberg offense threw for another passing touchdown and scored a two point conversion to make the score, Wabash 14 Wittenberg 21. Wabash tried on the final drive to tie the game, but they fumbled the ball, and the Tigers ran down the rest of the clock to end the game. The final score was Wabash 14, Wittenberg 21. The Little Giants now fall to 6-2 on the season as they head on a road trip to Allegheny College next weekend.
